WHAT I SMELL: Pear Inc. opens with a soft and slightly milky ambered musk. In a short time, a lovely muted pear makes an appearance while the perfume remains soft, rather cottony and very relaxed. As the perfume continues to develop, it picks up a bit of volume and starts to radiate a lightly salty aquatic note. The perfume manages to stay pretty contained leaving the pear note in control where it’s not too sweet, nor too gourmand, but instead it stays in this comfort zone that is pleasantly relaxing and delightfully casual. In the end, Pear Inc. recedes into a cotton and lightly billowy musk with a layer of subdued semi-sweet pear that rides on top along with just a hint of a hair spray note that seems to pop in and out. It’s modern without being obtuse, and it’s wonderfully easy to wear.
From the Juliette Has a Gun website:
Pear Inc. is a fragrance built around a green Pear, laying on a milky heart of Musk and twist of Ambroxan to lift its modernity. A heavenly fragrance evoking happiness, sunny days and positivity!
“I designed this new fragrance thinking about the return of warm sunny days and of my favourite fruit, the Pear. I remember, as a child, noticing its intriguing shape standing out from the others in the fruit bowl. With Pear Inc., I have imagined a refreshing fragrance, with a hint of “gourmandise”. A fruity musk, enhanced with Ambroxan and Pear, like the promise of a beautiful summer.” – Romano Ricci

THREE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE PEAR INC.: calming, contented, modern

Great review! I sprayed on my sampleof Pear, Inc. a week or two ago and hoped to like it. The initial notes were lovely as you describe. But then it all just disappeared from my skin, poof! This brand does not work with my perfume eating skin at all. Which is a shame because I liked this fragrance. I even tried it with a stabilizer on first and still it was gone,
But, fortunately, I can wear and love Patricia de Nicolai’s Angelys Pear fragrance and will probably buy a small bottle of it for summer. It does last on my skin and I enjoy it a lot. Pear is a tricky note, I find. It’s either delicious or maddeningly synthetic, depending on how it’s handled by the perfumer.

Sorry to hear that once again the perfume disappears so quickly on your skin. No doubt that can be so frustrating especially since perfume doesn’t run cheap in many cases. But glad that you found a pear you like. You’re right, it is a tricky note…I have found most to be very synthetic even to the point of smelling like something from Yankee Candle Company. Hope you’re doing well.
