WHAT I SMELL: ELENYA gold opens with a soft, smooth, rich and opulent bergamot combined with a subdued but very creamy black orchid. A perfectly subtle cardamom joins the bergamot and black orchid helping to even out the citrus and floral to make a beautifully flattened, but rounded presence. The perfume at this time is weighty without being heavy and is exotic in a very controlled manner. In addition, there are no sharp edges as the perfume takes it time in developing which makes the perfume feel that more substantive. After some time, the black orchid peeks his head out again along with the most creamy of unsweetened coconut. After some more time, a light sandalwood begins to buzz underneath the creaminess. A little sour, but just perfectly so, the sandalwood brings the right amount of depth to the perfume along with a woody vetiver. For me, ELENYA gold is hard to pin down because its overall mix of notes makes for a very smooth, almost custard-like perfume…it’s easy, yet grand.

Good morning! I have never heard of this brand before but I will be seeking it out now. This sounds really lovely, bergamot, orchid and sandalwood. Mmmm. And I do love a good floriental. Thanks for another great review!!

I just googled the nose and I see he is the perfumer behind the Perfume Sucks brand also. Interesting! Not sure I could buy a bottle that proclaimed ‘perfume sucks’ because it absolutely does not. Perfume rocks!!

I’m mildly curious. What I like about the brand: they have reasonably priced sample sets (when shipped within Europe) and very reasonable, if you look at the FB bottle price, travel sprays, though for some strange reason sold in pairs. Speaking of the FB, I’m not sure how they calculate, but their 2 x 5 ml (total 10 ml) cost 30, while a 50 ml bottle is 280, which is almost twice more expensive per ml. And those bottles are not Agonist or MDCI! Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around? Though, I remember seeing something similarly strange for large bottles of my favorite Puredistance.
