WHAT I SMELL: Elixir opens with a soft, sweet, beautiful juicy raspberry and peach. It’s so edible and inviting and it’s an immediate spirit lifter. A luscious rose and a brightened jasmine come sweeping in; mixing in an intoxicating way with the fruity goodness. I always love a perfume that is full of positive energy and Elixir is the epitome of positivity. The perfume starts to take on a layer of cottony musk which adds just the right amount of clean-like sparkle. And soon enough, a light warmth begins to blend with the sweetened cotton which makes the perfume that much more comforting. Not too long in the perfume’s development, Elixir begins to quiet and soften. It’s still lightly sweet, but very demure in the most enticing way.
From the Roja Parfums website:
“Fragrance is like a magical elixir: Invisible, a single drop can transform you into a goddess. It has the power to make you feel irresistible, confident, and seductive – where anything is possible. This magical elixir exudes effortless sensuality – giving you the power to light up a room, to leave an impression, and to get what you want.” – Roja Dove.

Marilyn Monroe
WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE TO ME: Quietly pink.
THREE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ELIXIR: soft, inviting, sweetened
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT ELIXIR: Ms Tantrum Blog, Fashion for Lunch, fromSandyxo
BOTTOM LINE: I have to admit that Elixir was not love at first sniff. I thought it was pretty, but after wearing it a couple of times, I found that I was craving its quiet beauty. Elixir borders on being a skin scent, because when you are wearing it, it feels as if it’s not projecting. But others around me have been left wondering where the heavenly scent is coming from. Elixir is a very personal fragrance…one that’s easy to make your own.

I have a sample of this and was hoping to try it today. Excellent timing on the review! If this juice would make me look like Marilyn it would be worth the $290.00 LOL I’ll post my thoughts on the fragrance later today or tomorrow. Thanks for another fantastic review.

Hi Ricky! The cost, yes, always a consideration. I would like to know what you think though. As I said, to me it wasn’t love at first sniff, but something that has made me love it more each time I wear it. It’s so soft and just so comforting. Enjoy.

I am wearing this beauty today and I love it! This is a real beauty. Reminds me a lot of my other favorite Roja Dove, the Lilac Extrait, which actually had almost identical ingredients to this fragrance. The opening of Elixir Pour Femme on my skin is fresh citrus, sweet lemony jasmine and muguet with some cinnamon in the background. Then powdery heliotrope enters the picture. As the fragrance develops I smell light raspberry and peach notes, with a sweet fresh rose mixed in. These middle notes are the ones I smell when I turn me head and sniff the sillage from my body. The fragrance deepens in development with light woods, orris and musk. It is overall a delicate fragrance, very soft and a bit sweet, but not a gourmandish sweet. I would love to have a bottle of this and I will be saving for it.
What fascinates me most about the behavior of the scent on my skin is that an hour after putting it on, all I smell when I put my nose right to my arm is a faint musky, woody scent, but when I turn my head and get a whiff of the sillage around me, I smell the most divine rosy, muguet and heliotrope with raspberry and just a hint of peach. So gorgeous in my opinion.
I will say that Elixir pour femme is for those who like light powdery florals and fresh light fruits. If someone doesn’t like those types of scents, then they would not like Elixir Pour Femme. Thanks again for reviewing this one!!

Final thoughts, I was sad that this beauty only lasted about 5 hours on me. Bummer! Maybe I won’t get a bottle. It would completely destroy my perfume budget. But I may get a couple more samples when I finish with this free one that I got from my last Luckyscent order.

Wow Ricky, what a great review. So true how it smells so differently when smelled close up and then from a bit away. Thanks for following up. Just sorry that it doesn’t last all that long on you, but I find that 5 hours is pretty typical for me on many fragrances if they’re not an amber, leather or vanilla. xoxoxoxox

What a beautiful review! It makes me want to try this perfume – even though peach is rarely my friend (unless I eat it!).
I think I would have come to love some of the RD’s perfumes had I been more exposed to them: with a couple that I have decants of and wear it took me some time before I realized I liked them, so my cursory sniffing at Harrod’s definitely wasn’t enough.

I have to admit that I’m not much of a peach lover myself. But here it doesn’t dominate. And I still would have to say that RD Enslaved is still my favorite in the line with Risque falling right behind. I would have a great deal of them in my collection if I could afford it 🙂
