WHAT I SMELL: Mon Jasmine Noir L’Eau Exquise opens with a tangy sparkling grapefruit and citrus. It’s fresh and soon turns lemony and then quickly following comes a lush and radiant jasmine. It’s really pretty, very feminine, somewhat sweet and oh so heavenly. The fragrance just radiates off of my skin like a layer of sunshine. It’s very heady and if not careful, I could see how this could overwhelm. But after around 15 minutes the radiance tempers itself and the fragrance is met with a tea accord which pulls me away from my “love” of the fragrance to a “like.” Don’t get me wrong, it’s just that tea notes are not generally to my liking. I actually find that the tea takes the fragrance into the “bathtastic” mode and makes it feel like it’s turning into bath oil beads. In the end you’re left with a slightly sweet white tea and floral fragrance that is clean and pretty.

BOTTOM LINE: The opening of this fragrance was incredible and I was in love. The dyrdown not so much. It’s nice and all, but it could have been so much more.

Is the tea in the area of their Eau the Vert? I quite like a crisp, dry tea vibe in the heart of my fragrance.
As to stopping by, I love your reviews, they are so precise and easy to grasp what you’re smelling.

You are so sweet. To answer your question, it’s been so long since I have sampled the the Au the Vert, but that is a green tea and in this it’s a white tea. I’ll take the white tea over the green tea accord anyday, but this isn’t a dry tea, but instead is more lush and mixed with the florals, it gives it that bath oil feeling.

Right. That makes some sense. Currently trying to get my palate sophisticated enough for white teas. To be honest I’m worried that I am an OTT person all the way.

I recently tried all 7of the Bvlgaris at my local Sephora and found them to be weirdly overly sweet and cloying with the exception of Jasmine Noir (in the black bottle) which seemed to be the only one that left out the teeth clenching sugary accord. I dont know what was going on with my nose that day – the floral notes just seemed to represent themselves as heady sweet bombs.
Being a tea merchant, I’m all about looking for the tea in so called tea frags, but I didn’t get it in this at all, which was very disappointing.

Well, I was expecting a bit more “noir” in this, but even before I tried it, I wasn’t really too suprised since the bottle and all the advertising is bright and floral. Let’s see how many more flankers they can produce off of the original!

I believe it is. Maybe there’s research out there that says a person who owns the original is certain to buy any flanker associated with the original. There has to be some reason as to why they over-flanker themselves.
